HMA Fall season Flute Festival

Performing were our flutists from the HMA flute studio. Excellent duets and solos were presented to a very appreciative audience of family and friends. A special treat was a trio ensemble playing “Skip to My Lou” three times, with each member of the trio having a turn at each of the three parts! Bravi!

The festival concluded with videos of famous flutists playing a variety of musical genres. Each video was a window to the wide world of flute playing. We are looking forward to another Flute Festival in 2023!

Note: Houston Music Academy holds seasonal “Showcases” as well, featuring all instrumentalists and vocalists who are ready to perform for others. Sharing our musical joy is what it’s all about!!

Dr. Patricia Brown, a long-standing member of the Texas Medical Center Orchestra, has joined the Houston Music Academy as an instructor. Coming from a classical flute background, she has studied with flutists from the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
